We have the experience to take the project from start to finish, from your initial ideas through to a working system. We have our own proven and controlled approach which started its life in the '80's. Of course, it has been changed over 27 years to keep pace with technology and market developments, but some truths last forever: getting a business case, management buy-in and an appropriate written understanding of requirements; managing scope creep; agreeing expectations; being proactive to manage problems; using a planning tool as a slave not a master. There are many more.
We have been in this business a long time so we have seen what makes for success and what the warning signals of failure are - and we are outspoken when we see the warning signals. We will always be polite but we will always say how we see it.
Supplementing Your Team
You will appreciate that we relish taking project responsibility. Sometimes though, you might be looking for additional resource to supplement your own project team. We can do this for days or weeks or months. Macaw will not try to load more staff onto the team to increase its fee income; we can point to cases where we have turned down the chance of adding a consultant to a development team because we did not believe it was the right course of action. What we have learned is that absolute integrity is rewarded with more mutually beneficial business.
Our consultants are full time salaried staff; they are not hourly paid contractors - so they will not be watching the clock or worrying about the next contract.
Application Support
Once the implementation process is over, we can provide an application support service. This does not have to be an implementation that Macaw has completed: several of our customers operate their own bespoke systems for which they had been unable to find a reliable support and maintenance service. We have answered their call with a high quality but flexible ad-hoc service, delivering all aspects of software application support including configuration, maintenance, fault analysis and rectification, and enhancement of the application..
